Maybe You Don’t Need to Change Your Life
There are so many conversations about changing your life.
Quit your job.
Move somewhere new.
Wake up at 5am.
Start over.
Become a better version of yourself.
And sometimes, yes.
Maybe you do need a change.
But sometimes I wonder if we're making it harder than it needs to be.
Maybe you don't need to change your whole life.
Maybe you need a Sunday without your phone.
A swim before checking your emails.
A long lunch with someone you haven't properly talked to in months.
A walk with nowhere to be.
A few days somewhere beautiful.
A conversation that makes you see something differently.
Maybe you need to sleep.
Maybe you need to laugh more.
Maybe you need to stop filling every quiet moment with something.
I've noticed that when we step away from our usual routines, even for a little while, we start noticing things we had stopped noticing.
How tired we actually were.
How much we missed being outside.
How good it feels to have nowhere to rush to.
How much we enjoy talking to people when we're not distracted.
How little we sometimes need to feel like ourselves again.
I'm not saying everything can be fixed with a weekend away.
Life doesn't work like that.
But I do think we underestimate what a little space can do.
You don't always need a completely different life.
Sometimes you just need to make some room for the one you already have.
And maybe that's where things begin to feel a little different.
